MARK L. SMITH
Mark L. Smith is a member of the state of Rhode Island, Federal District Court, United States Court of Appeals for the 1st Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court Bars.
Mr. Smith's practice is concentrated in the area of civil and criminal litigation, serious personal injury, tax assessment litigation, commercial transactions, will contests, and other disputed claims. Mr. Smith is a former member of the Rhode Island Department of Attorney General where he prosecuted numerous murders and class one felonies brought by the people of the State of Rhode Island. Mr. Smith is presently on the Rhode Island Superior Court Appointment List for the defense of indigent defendants accused of serious felonies.
Attorney Smith has received a bachelor's degree from the University of Denver, a law degree from Suffolk University, and a Masters of law degree from Boston University. He's a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Rhode Island Trial Lawyers Association and treasurer of the Rhode Island Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
