LISA K. Curtis

For the past 15 years Lisa K. Curtis has dedicated her practice to helping those families harmed by death or serious injury caused by the unreasonable actions of others. For the last 10 years she has worked primarily in the investigation and trial cases of medical malpractice. Although she has been asked to handle cased through trial in varying other areas of law involving the Fair Labor Standards Act, trucking and automobile collisions, sexual abuse and bad faith insurance. Her focus remains to find justice for families suffering the effects of bad medical practice.
Lisa moved to New Mexico as a child, attending public schools and the University of New Mexico for under-graduate degree. She started her first legal job the day she started college. Lisa graduated from the University of New Mexico school of Law in 1993, where she received the "Tort Scholar Award". She was fortunate to be in practice with Jacob Vigil from 1993 as Vigil &Vigil, until 2005 when she left to open her own firm where she and a dozen dedicated people work everyday to bring wrong doers to justice.
Lisa founded and runs the L K Vigil Children's Foundation which she donates to worthy children's organizations. She speaks to trial lawyers organizations as well as lay person organizations about trial issues and how to keep children and families safe when faced with medical issues.
She has obtained tens of millions of dollars of compensation for her clients, caused policy changes in hospitals and physician practices, and remains dedicated to the development of the law that protects the rights of those inured and killed due to the wrong doing of others.
