DOUGLAS A. BARRY
As partner and President of Allen, Allen, Allen & Allen, Doug leads the firm in its mission to provide assertive advocacy and counsel for the legal rights and interests of injured persons through the support of a compassionate team of skilled attorneys and the firm's well trained and experienced staff. Doug joined the firm in 1996, bringing with him extensive legal experience handling complex automobile, medical malpractice, and products liability cases. A former prosecutor and FBI agent, Doug is a highly regarded litigator who tries major cases in state and federal courts. He is a disciplined, forthright, and personable lawyer who is always focused on his clients' concerns and objectives. With this focus in mind, he works with clients and opposing counsel to explore a range of settlement alternatives and options throughout every stage of litigation while, at the same time, preparing aggressively for trial. Since 1993, Doug has had many million dollar and multi million dollar verdicts or settlements on behalf of clients.
From 1982 until 1984 Doug served as Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney for the City of Richmond. Thereafter, he served as Special Agent for the FBI until he returned to legal practice as Chief Deputy Commonwealth's Attorney for Hanover County where he worked from 1986 to 1993. Before joining the Allen law firm, Doug was a trial attorney and litigation supervisor at another Richmond personal injury law firm.
Doug's professional passion is securing and protecting the rights of injured children and their families. He is committed to community service and manages the law firm's marketing and community relations efforts.
