How old are you?
50

Where do you live?
Vestiva Hills

What is your occupation?
Personal Injury Lawyer

What are your hobbies?
Golf, traveling, history and reading. My wife, Marti, and I collect antiques

What kind of antiques do you collect?
At my office on the Southside, a Prairie Mission - style home, I love collecting Mission furniture. At our home, we have an eclectic collection. We have a variety of furniture from different countries and different time periods.

What is Mission furniture?
It's an American made antique furniture. You don't have the curves and rounded corners; everything is straight lines and squared off, it's primarily oak.

How were you introduced to it?
I was in the City Federal building for 20 years. When the City Federal Building was closed down, I purchased this building. I started doing some research on the house and the time period.
This house was built in 1912, the same time that the Mission furniture was being mass-produced. I started slowly furnishing my law office with period pieces. I thought it was only logical to furnish it with the same furniture that was produced when the house was built.

Where are you originally from?
I grew up in Ionia, Michigan., a small town 30 miles form Grand Rapids.

What brought you to Birmingham?
I graduated from Michigan State and then came to law school at Cumberland School of Law at Samford University.

Did you ever have another profession?
Besides practicing law, I also was a part-time sports agent for about 10 years. I represented professional football players.

Did you represent anyone famous?
I had Robert Shaw, the number one draft for the Dallas Cowboys in 1979.

Are you still working as an agent?
No. My regular law practice just became too time-consuming.
